We had our AGM this year on Monday 16th July, and it was a very joyous occasion to celebrate what Freedom had accomplished this past year, and what we hope to achieve in the year ahead.
In particular, our new Cluster Support Workers each introduced themselves, where Freedom stood in their communities, and where they hope for us to be this time next year. It was very exciting to hear these new and fresh ideas tossed around, and to understand the importance of these new staff members and what potential they have to develop the services in their communities.
It was emphasized by each of them how impressed they were by the dedication and resilience of the volunteers in their areas and others, and that their jobs would be impossible without this strong support.
In the CEO’s report, it was explained how far Freedom has come, not only in the past year but in the past 10 years as we approach the 10th anniversary of the charity.
- We have handed out 14,700 food parcels, with 60% of these going to families.
- In the past 5 years we have recovered over £2.8 million in benefits.
- We have helped people struggle with a total of £2 million in debt over the past 3 years.
It is very humbling to hear these figures, as it shows us just how many lives Freedom has touched, and provides the baseline for how many more we will affect in the years to come.
Thank you to all who attended the AGM, and we hope to see you again next year!
