The calm after the storm…

Last week was a pretty hectic week here at Freedom, despite handing over the majority of community week this year to Bolsover Methodist Church who did a great job with the kids clubs and the other week time events.

Our first event was on the Friday, a night of wonders with Magical Mayhem magician: Paul Brown! It was a great night which everyone who attended enjoyed. Some children (and adults!) were invited up on stage to help with the tricks, and it was thoroughly entertaining.

On the Saturday, we had our Bolsover Fun Day which was well-attended and enjoyed by those who came. These are some of the things they had to say:

I thought it was brilliant. Kinds really enjoyed it and as parents, because the games stalls were free, we were able to have a little fun with the kids too.

It was a brilliant day, and I think everybody enjoyed it.

I really think you are so very valuable to the community, and I love seeing all the smiles on everyone’s faces when I come along to any of your events.

Following all of this, you might be forgiven for thinking we are taking a well-earned break from the hustle and bustle of events. Alas, that is a concept we do not understand at Freedom! Planning is going swiftly underway for our Christmas events, so keep your eyes peeled if you are hoping to see one near you!

We hope to see you all soon, whether it’s in our cafes, with our support workers, or at an event. Your engagement is what keeps us alive!
